Renfrewshire Council
Welcome to the Library Resource Centre
Librarian: Mr A Kerr
The school Library is a very busy and well-used learning resource centre. It is a valuable resource for all staff, pupils and students and it is an integral part in the effective development and delivery of the curriculum. All members of the school community can access information from a wide range of sources. The library has an extensive range of books and audio-visual resources. There are 13 PCs, a scanner and a laser printer in the library which are linked into the school network allowing pupils access to ICT resources.

The Library is run by a chartered Librarian - Mr Kerr - who liaises with departments to encourage use of the library, the emphasis being on the development of user education programmes, and information skills, to help the accessing and processing of information. The library also plays a vital role in stimulating and maintaining a reading habit in the pupils, and books are chosen with the help of pupils by a suggestion box to ensure reading for enjoyment.

One section of the library is dedicated to careers material. This provides students with access to up to date careers information on occupations, Further and Higher Education.

We are keen to encourage pupils to use the Library for their studies and for recreational reading. To facilitate this it is open at lunchtime and after school.

Mr Kerr is glad to give help and advice to anyone seeking it.
